Automated Sample Preparation And Analysis In One Compact Instrument

Blue Ocean Biomedical introduces the CR Series Systems:

the first fully integrated, fluorescence-based, cellular analysis research systems dedicated to running standardized immune monitoring panels.  The design of the CR Series takes full advantage of advanced technology to introduce a fresh, innovative approach to automating the process of immune panel testing.  The CR Series combines automated sample preparation and analysis in one compact instrument that communicates with your LIS.  The result: great productivity and cost savings in a highly reliable system.

The CR 300 provides “Load & Go” sample processing:

load the samples and the system does all the rest.  The CR 300 System features an integrated specimen autoloader for moderate-to-high volume laboratories.  Researchers simply load the sample tube(s) into the system and walk away.  No need for separate prep and analysis instruments and computers, or for transporting samples back and forth between them.

The CR 300 is especially designed for clinical researchers running one or more fixed immune surveillance panels for contract research, pharmaceutical drug development, and research in university medical centers and reference labs. The standardized immune monitoring panels may be monitoring for immunodeficiency (HIV-AIDS), autoimmune diseases, organ transplant response, infectious diseases, oncology and others.  The system is introduced with two fixed immune monitoring panels, and many more in development.   Blue Ocean is also able to customize 2-to-5-color antibody panels for use in whole blood applications.

Complete Your Work Faster, No Batch Processing

With all sample preparation and analysis fully integrated in one system, there is no need for slow and tedious “batch processing” of the day’s samples.  The CR 300 automatically prepares patient samples in a microtiter plate, so there are no daughter tubes to label and keep track of, and significantly less blood and reagents are needed.  Samples can be loaded onto the system at any time, and each will be automatically processed.  Time to first result (TFR) is less than 20 minutes, with subsequent results reported about every 2 minutes. Capacity is more than 200 samples per day.  Results can be reported much quicker and earlier in the day, so a lab’s capacity can be significantly increased.

Add Up Your Cost Savings

With all these advantages in throughput, efficiency and automation, one would expect that the CR 300 System would cost more than existing competitive instrumentation.  But in fact, it costs much less.  Add up the savings:  lower system costs, lower reagent costs and reduced hands-on labor means the overall cost to own and operate a CR 300 System results in a significant overall cost savings.

A Great Space Saver

While comparable systems, with their multiple modules and computer screens, take up between 10 and 13 feet of valuable bench space, this workhorse Blue Ocean system is compact.  The CR 300 is only 31 inches wide.  The all-in-one touch-screen computer can be conveniently placed on top of the system, keeping the footprint small and freeing up valuable space for the lab.
