All Blu-O reagents are labeled with barcodes for fast loading and to minimize potential errors.  Onboard reagents, when placed on the system, are automatically detected by the system.  Demographic data such as lot number, expiration date, product ID, etc., is captured in the system log. Reagents that are not onboard are presented to the system’s barcode reader by the user.  The barcode is read and the demographic data is captured.  So there is no need for manual entry of this information.

• Smart-Track monitoring.  A key benefit of the Blu-O system is that reagent usage is automatically tracked by the system, so the user can easily see how much of each reagent is left, and plan the remaining workload accordingly.  The system provides user-selectable alerts when the “reagent low” condition occurs.

The Lymphocyte Subset Analysis 1 (LSA-1) product is a four-color monoclonal antibody cocktail (CD45/CD4/CD8/CD3) for enumerating Total T Cells, T helper and T cytotoxic cell subsets. The Lysing Reagent Kit is a 100-test kit consisting of one Blu-O™ Lysing Reagent A (lysing agent) and one Blu-O™ Lysing Reagent B (quenching agent).  Red blood cells are lysed quickly, and white bloods cells remain in a near-native state, making it easier to interpret data. The Lysing Kit is also compatible with electronic volume (EV).  The lysing reagents are placed onboard the system and are barcoded, which allows the system to detect their presence and position.  High volume users can load multiple containers and the system will automatically move from one container to the next as needed.

Blu-O™ Enzymatic Cleaner, CE-IVD

The Enzymatic Cleaner from Blue Ocean resides onboard the instrument. The Cleaner is used in automatic cleaning cycles such as instrument startup and shutdown..  Cleaning cycles may also be initiated by the user as needed.  This very effective cleaner reduces unwanted proteins in the system’s tubing and fittings. And, like all Blu-O reagents, the product is formulated for use with Blue Ocean systems.

The Blu-O™ Sodium Hypochlorite Solution is placed onboard the instrument by the user. The reagent is used in automatic cleaning cycles and may also be initiated by the user as needed.  This strong cleaner reduces unwanted proteins in the system’s tubing and fittings.

Blu-O™ Deep Well Plate, CE-IVD

The Deep Well Plate is a 96-well microplate with conical bottoms in each well that optimize the sample preparation process of the system.  The microplate design enables simultaneous preparation and analysis in one system without the use of daughter tubes. The plate is a high-quality, deep well type, made of virgin polypropylene.

Each Deep Well Plate has a unique bar-code that is automatically read when placed onboard the system.  This enables the system to automatically track sample locations and to log consumable demographic data such as lot number and product ID.

Specimen Cassettes

The CR 300 System is equipped with an automatic sample loader that utilizes cassettes to queue samples for preparation and analysis.  Each cassette holds up to five specimen tubes.  Up to eight cassettes, a maximum of 40 specimens, can be loaded at one time.  Cassettes can be loaded and unloaded without interrupting the system's workflow.

Different specimen cassettes are available to accommodate a variety of blood collection tubes.  In addition, Blue Ocean can design custom cassettes to accommodate special specimen tube types to meet your automation needs.  Each cassette is uniquely identified.
